Legally compliant digital labels for all applications

info.link was founded in Hamburg in 2022 by Max Ackermann and Christoph Goeken. The start-up aims to empower organizations to be more transparent and help consumers make more sustainable purchasing decisions.

Info.link enables compliance via GS1 Digital Link

The startup offers a platform for creating digital labels that enables companies to design legally compliant product packaging. Packaging labels with QR codes can be created and managed quickly and easily via info.link. In conjunction with the GS1 Standard Digital Link, the QR code becomes dynamic, as it acts like a “switch”, displaying product-specific information depending on the location and time when the code is scanned. For example, proof of green claims can be retrieved and EU directives fulfilled in a legally compliant manner.

“I am delighted to be joining existing investors such as Green Generation Fund and APX to support info.link on its journey,” says Managing Director Benjamin Birker.

butterfly & elephant is a perfect strategic partner for our company, as GS1 Germany's extensive network in industry and trade supports pickshare in establishing and disseminating the necessary standards for non-discriminatory cooperation in circular logistics.

Quick and easy to achieve greater transparency with the help of GS1 standards

The idea for info.link came from an experience they had while shopping in a drugstore in Hamburg. There they noticed that almost a third of the packaging of a skincare line was used to explain a single sustainability statement. But even this did not meet the strict requirements for transparency and avoidance of misleading information.

Aware that transparency requirements would continue to increase, the founders realized that companies needed an easy way to share product information with consumers digitally, quickly and in compliance with the law.
